Beauty and skincare. Is there another more controversial yet interesting subject out there? Whether you are a beauty guru or not, you cannot deny the importance of good skincare and good make-up products.
If I were to speak from a personal point of view I would say a good skin always comes before a good make-up. Why? Because in order to have a flawless finish for your make-up you need a good ”foundation” for it right? Which without doubt means having a hydrated & moisturised skin. Now of course there are so many things out there which can help with these two matters, however call me old school but I think nothing works better than drinking plenty of water (I know, I need to work on this too), wash your face with an exfoliating fabric wipe ( this has been a game changer over the past few months) twice a day, in the morning and evening, and always take your make-up off before going to sleep. It is also extremely important not to use only wet wipes. While some might say they find it easier to take off their make-up with these, the truth is that they only clean your mascara and foundation, not your skin. Not properly.
I cannot stress enough the importance of skincare especially during the cold weather. This should be the moment when you hit that reset button and up your routine game for the following months, otherwise your skin might suffer. The warm to cold change affects all types of skin, however the one which suffers the most is the dry skin. The changing in temperature can accentuate the symptoms of those who suffer from different skin conditions such as dermatisis, psoriazis, etc. As someone who suffers from dermatisis, I have found some things which I like to call my miracle products.
Dermalogica has been my favourite brand since day one. This cream mentioned above contains ingredients which work on a molecular level in order to help reduce the Trans-Epidermal Water Loss or TEWL. It keeps your skin hydrated for 48 hours continuously, and also helps shield skin’s natural microbiome from environmental stress.
Aveeno is yet another brand I absolutely love, I have been using it for over 4 years and the only thing I don’t appreciate about them ( which does not involve their products amazing effects however) is the fact that they are not fully cruelty-free. Due to the fact that their products are for sale in the Mainland China, whatever crosses the border there MUST by law be tested on animals. Aveeno as a brand does not conduct animal testing of any kind however.
I am trying my best to only use cruelty-free skin-care products, as well as make-up. However for someone who struggles with Dermatisis, this moisturiser is the only one which truly keeps the irritation on my face under control. I do hope that 2020 will be the year this amazing brand will become 100% cruelty-free.
Avant is a luxury skincare brand. With them being more on the high-end side, I was indeed expecting to receive something in return for their quite expensive products. Two months ago I was lucky enough to be able to try the Avant Supreme Hyaluronic Acid Moisturiser. OH MY GOD! This product surely works its magic. I have been using it twice a day, in the morning after washing & exfoliating my face and in the evenings. My skin is so soft and smooth, it also got rid of the red patches on my cheeks for me while leaving my skin flawless and ready if I wanted to apply my foundation and concealer. This brand is fully 100% cruelty-free and even though their products are more on the expensive side, if you are looking for a really good moisturiser you should save some money and give them a go.
With this being said, I hope you enjoyed reading this. You made it this far? That’s amazing! A big big thank you from the heart. These products really help me and I hope they will help you as well. I do however have to remind you that these are my personal opinions based on personal experiences.
Did you use any of these until now? And if yes, do you love them as much as I do?
